Lacy Katzen LLP, Attorneys at Law - Rochester, NY
Lacy Katzen LLP, Attorneys at Law, is a full service law firm based in Rochester, NY with satellite offices strategically located throughout the region. Our practice extends beyond the Greater Rochester area and includes metropolitan
New York City.
In 1950, two World War II veterans and young attorneys, Herb Lacy and Leon Katzen had a vision to create a full service regional law firm that represented each client with unmatched advocacy. They also believed in the philosophy that being a good lawyer goes beyond the knowledge of the law and must include a dedication and caring for the clients being served. This continues to be their legacy to the firm and its clients today.
Our attorneys are dedicated to providing superior legal services and counsel to our clients with the highest standards of professional responsibility and business ethics. Practicing in Rochester NY provides us with the ability to compete on price without compromising the value or zealousness of our legal representation. In fact our flexible and innovative fee structures are part of the value we offer our clients.
Our clients are people, businesses and municipalities who come to us at a time of crisis: Examples of this are a parent or spouse with deteriorating health, a legal separation issue, an auto accident, a surgical mishap, a bank creditor problem, a business dispute, a zoning issue, or a real estate problem.
Our clients are people, businesses and municipalities who come to us to plan for the future: This might involve corporate mergers and acquisitions, business formations, estate planning, estate administration, consulting a tax attorney, planning for business succession, sales and purchase of a house or business or working with Medicaid to protect assets from having to be spent on nursing
home care.
We believe in unmatched advocacy:
We advocate for those who suffer injuries due to no fault of their own, whether the damages are physical and/or financial. Sometimes our clients need us to help them out in surgical error malpractice cases or slip and fall cases. Our Litigation Department has a wide range of attorneys who have a wide range of experience as personal injury lawyers, medical malpractice attorneys, nursing home negligence attorneys, car accidents lawyers, DUI DWI attorneys, and family law attorneys.

How May We Help You?
We enjoy working as a team for our clients:
Lacy Katzen LLP is a team of attorneys and paraprofessionals who work in overlapping and interconnecting practice groups and share their combined knowledge to solve both complex and seemingly simple legal problems.
Our New York business litigation lawyers, investment fraud attorneys and real estate attorneys work seamlessly with our Business Department, Estate Administration and Matrimonial attorneys to achieve the best possible results for our clients. Our team approach affords our litigators the luxury of consulting with our tax attorneys when contemplating a settlement offer in litigation, divorce and family law, business and estate planning areas of the law.
We are both proactive and reactive, depending on the client's needs whether they involve contracts, intellectual property, personal finance, commercial real estate, or business code ethics.
Our Creditors' Rights and Collections attorneys work with our Litigation and Corporate Departments to provide help in debt collection, bankruptcy cases
and foreclosures.
Our Estate Planning and Trusts Department performs estate administration, often working with our Real Estate Department to sell properties. They work through wealth preservation issues when an elder is in need of a nursing home. They formulate wealth preservation strategies for estate planning from the inception of the relationship until well after the death of the client, using a variety of attorney skills and legal disciplines.
